Scaffold for soffits and fascias access, Pine Grove Road, Southampton

Service we supplied: Access to soffits and facias.

Location: Pine Grove Road, Southampton.

Customer requirements: This customer was quoted for a scaffold to the front of a 2-storey property so that they could access and replace the soffits and facias

Issues that arose: No problems arose when erecting or dismantling this structure. We could park our lorry directly outside the property to quickly offload our equipment.

What we did:

• We erected a structure that measured approximately 8m wide and 4m high to the front elevation of this semi-detached property.
• The scaffold featured 2 lifts, with the top lift fully boarded and the walkway 6 scaffold boards wide to create a safe working environment for the user.
• The top lift was erected approximately 4ft below the gutter level to provide easy reach to the soffits and facias.
• Double handrails and toe boards were installed throughout to prevent materials and equipment from falling from the scaffold.
• A steel ladder was fixed to the scaffolding to access the working platform directly.
• A yellow metal ladder access gate was also installed as a safety feature to prevent falling from height.
• 10x 21ft scaffold tubes were used as the standards (uprights) for this structure, and these were placed on metal base plates that were rested on timber sole boards to protect the concrete.

Rental period:  This customer was given an 8-week rental period, which is a little longer than our standard 4-week hire period for scaffolds like these. However, we will always accommodate whatever hire period is requested when quoting for scaffolding.
