Southampton Scaffold Erectors & Contractors

Southampton is a city that has been around since the Stone Age and is therefore steeped in history! It’s a popular location for tourists because of its setting amidst the beauty of the New Forest and just by the coast.
Southampton was the scene of the Roman settlement of Clausentum, an important site that was one of the last Roman towns to be abandoned. The ancient Romans would have used scaffolding to erect many of their buildings, but certainly not the type we are familiar with today! Most probably their tubes and poles would have been made from bamboo and other types of lightweight but strong material. Today’s scaffolding design really doesn’t differ that much, but it certainly is very much safer.

Scaffolding Southampton

At Hampshire Scaffolding Ltd we don’t just supply the city of Southampton with all of its scaffolding needs, but also the surrounding towns and villages such as the areas of Maybush and Shirley with their many new builds and modern estates as well as the historical village of Ampfield with renovation projects and essential maintenance of the many ancient buildings.

Southampton Scaffolders

As modern day scaffolders our tools may have changed but we have the same dedication and commitment to our work as the ancient Romans would have had. Only now we can offer a much wider range of services such as scaffolding supplies for sale as well as for hire, with a large variety of scaffolding for almost any jobs you can think of.

Our equipment is often seen on many building sites, helping to erect timber frames, temporary roofs and ensure the safety of workers who are busy modernising and bringing new families to cities such as Southampton. In fact safety is paramount to us and as an independent company we adhere to all the safety regulations as detailed by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). As well as buying or hiring our basic scaffolding equipment we can also provide safety netting, crash decks, rubbish chutes, handrails and edge protection. For ease of access for workers we also have ramps, stages and ladders.

Previous Scaffolding Works in Southampton

Asylum Road, Southampton
Access scaffolding was erected for a new build block of flats being constructed from the first storey to create student accommodation. Four fully boarded lifts were built in progression with the timber frame supplier and then adapted for the brickwork and external treatments. A gantry scaffold was erected for stacking materials on whilst the build was in progress.

Rockstone Place, Southampton
A full scaffold temporary roof was supplied to a domestic customer having a loft conversion installed by a local building company. Alloy beams were used to span the existing roof and covered with steel sheets. Plastic monaflex sheeting was installed for the roof level down to the boarded lift to protect the building whilst the conversion was carried out.
Court Road, Southampton
Solar panel scaffolding was supplied to the property on the rear elevation which included spanning over a conservatory building. 6m alloy beams were used to span the area with a fully boarded scaffolding lift installed at gutter height to complete the solar panel works. A rope and wheel was installed to get materials up to the working area and included a ladder access.
Winn Road, Southampton

Three scaffold lifts were built to the side elevation of the property up to roof plate level. A large detached property required a roofing scaffold to carry out repairs to the front and rear elevations. Five lifts of access platforms were constructed with the top lift fully boarded with edge protection handrails. Grove Road, Southampton
The gable end of this domestic property required a fully boarded access scaffold for the re-pointing and re-sealing of the brickwork due to weather damage. The scaffold platform was erected and covered in plastic monaflex sheeting including a pitched scaffold roof installed to stop the weather affecting the works in progress.
Millbrook Road, Southampton
